lulu's favorite things [Aug. 22nd, 2004|08:38 am]
anything goes
i can't decide if my daughter is brilliant or a bit of a freak. her favorite things right now:

washing her hands (she climbs up on her stool and says "hand! hand!" then she wants to dry them. she does this many many times a day.)

eating ice. ("ice! ice!")

getting her diapers put on her babies. (then she takes them off again. it is endless.)

drinking from a cup. (she sits in her little chair and drinks very carefully from a cup. a real cup, no sippys here. then she carefully puts it back down. then she wipes her face and the table and anywhere else that she spilled. then she starts over again.)

so there is definately some obsessive compulsive behavior going on. but she is 17 months old. i think that i'll just embrace this behavior as adorable and brilliant. which she is.

we actually need to encourage the tooth brushing more- she is getting 6 (!!) teeth all at the same time right now, and the lack of brushing is making me nervous!!

Awesome! Those are all cute, charming, little brilliances. My kids love and get very little ice. Must remember to fill up a tray for them, since Mike and I never touch the stuff ourselves.
Looking forward to seeing you soon! Wahoo. Tuesday would work just as well as Wed, btw. Then we would get to see you sooner!
Tomorrow, I think I will try to go to the Y and actually work out instead of just sitting in the childcare room so my child won't scream. Big dreams, I have. :)

I love new parents.

"My baby drank from a cup and ate some ice and washed her hands today. She's brilliant!"

happy parenting.

hey- the first time doing anything is pretty brilliant! watching her get her little hands around that cup and not pouring the whole darn thing down her front is like watching a complex mathmatical formula being figured out.
